Asylum
One can apply for asylum if they are already in the United States while fleeing persecution or fear of future persecution in their country of origin. Persecution in regard to race, religion, nationality, political opinion or social group all qualify as instances for asylum in the United States. While these circumstances are similar to that of someone applying for Refugee status, it differs in that someone seeking Asylum must already present within the United States. One must also be able to prove said persecution and have not exceeded the one year time limit to apply in order to be eligible for asylum. We here at Alia Adhal P.A. understand leaving your home country can be difficult, especially under circumstances of extreme fear and stress. We’ll work to keep you and your loved ones safe, in the land of the free and the brave.
